Bulk D&D minis for cheap (Read 15907 times)

I went through the same thing recently. Suggestions:

1) buy a case of D&D miniatures (not that cheap, but you'll get a lot of quality minis
2) go on eBay and search for "fantasy mini lot" or something similar. There are always people on eBay selling a bunch of minis. They may not be official D&D Miniatures minis, but if you're not that picky you'll be able to find something.
3) See if you can find a copy of HeroQuest or some similar adventure game for cheap. I say HeroQuest because that was my solution; I was at my parents' house back in GA and had an epiphany - I own a copy of HeroQuest, which comes stocked with TONS of miniatures. This includes multiples of goblins, orcs, zombies, and skeletons, some of which even have different weapons in their hands, which allow you to differentiate between monsters of the same type. It also has minis for each type of adventurer.

Sometimes they have bags on sale (for $29?) they usually have a good assortment in there. I think if you bought some in bulk and were looking to trade some doubles you would find a couple folks willing to work something out.

A problem with the official mini's is that they are dual purpose. (Some folks play the skirmish game) and Rp'er tend to eat up the common low level threats (wolves, giant rats etc) Getting minis for less than a .50 a pop seems a tough task.

Whether there are ghosts in that house is not for me to say! But, there are far more dangerous things than ghosts.
