AD&D at +1

PEOPLE OF GNO:

I'd like to put together an adventure at +1 Gaming soon after they open, and I'm polling for interest.  The plan is to use it as a seed for a long-running campaign.  The idea is to start with Medieval fantasy and then broaden the scope as the players grow, putting them into an atypical AD&D environment.  I don't want to give too much away, but by "atypical" I mean as different as the off-beat TSR campaign settings such as Dark Sun, Spelljammer, and Planescape are different from your Dragonlances, Greyhawks, and Forgotten Realms-es.  Anyway, I'd like to know what you would prefer:

1st Edition or
2nd Edition?

I ask because I want to create some pre-rolled characters of various classes and styles.  Majority rules.  A tie will be broken in an awesome way that has yet to be decided (rules-lite D20 combat encounter? Game of M:TG?  Arm-wrasslin'?  I dunno).

I'm perfectly open to players that are new to AD&D.  I spent much of my youth teaching people how to play these games, and I imagine I'm better at teaching now that I'm in my late 20s than I was when I was 11 - amirite?

I'm looking for 4 - 6 players.  You'll need a big party to cut down on the inevitable ass-whoopin' that your characters will receive early on in the campaign.

The Internet Oracle has pondered your question deeply. Your question was:

1e is for me.   Smiley

I'm a 9-to-5-er, so weekends are best for me, or weeknights that don't go too late.

Same here.  I want to keep it relatively casual, i.e. we'll get together when we can.  No need to expect everyone to be somewhere weekly/bi-weekly - just sets yourself up for disappointment.
