Real Life scores a critical hit!!!!

I've lost two players in the past month.  One player has "gone dark" and the other is a brand new Papa (Congrats!).  Actually, Papa may not be out for the count, but I know how new parenthood is, so I'm suspecting he'll be scarce at best.

I still have 3 steady players, but this leaves openings for up to 2 more players.  We play every other Friday evening in Lakeview.  There will be a game this Friday.  The age range of all 6 gamers (including DM, Me!) is mid-twenties to late forties, but anyone 18+ is fine. I'd allow younger, but we usually play til about 11pm.  It's not 18+ for adult theme or anything like that.  My game is very family friendly.  Smiley

Respond in this thread or PM me if you're interested.

Characters are only 3rd level (nearly 4th), so catching up XP-wise shouldn't be a problem at all.

First ed is Blue/red book or A-dnd Monster Manual or 3 grey books? Just curious.

Red Priest:

Was it you I spoke with via meetup.com?  I bet it was.  I'm the Braves hat guy (I hate to pigeonhole myself like that, but it makes it so easy - I've given myself my own epithet).

Anyway, Georgia's on my mind right now because that's where all my old 1st edition (and 2nd edition, for that matter) materials are - in Georgia, in my old bedroom at my parents' house.  This leads to two questions:

1) Do you know of anywhere in town where I could pick up some old books?
2) Does anyone around here have any they can get rid of?

Talkin' 'bout Player's Handbook at least.

I saw they had some old stuff at More Fun Comics on Oak St, but they didn't have any of the core 1st edition stuff

{
If you're looking, they had...
    DM Guide, 2nd edition
    Monster Manual, 3rd ed
    AD&D Battlesystem
}

Anyway, I'd love to get my hands on those old books so I can, you know, play and stuff.  Besides, I get pretty bored sitting on my toilet sometimes.

Holler at me!

The Internet Oracle has pondered your question deeply. Your question was:

And in response, thus spake the Oracle:

Lots of used book stores about town. The wife picked me up some 1st ed stuff cheap a few weeks back. Also ebay is your friend

Alrighty, we've got a consistent group of 5 players now, plus me as DM, but it wouldn't be bad if we could pickup a sixth.  I wouldn't mind even more, but my gaming/dining room is maxed-out at about 7 bodies for gaming.

beyonder, did you ever get your books from Georgia?

As a matter of fact, I did.  Sorry I never got back in touch with you.

So remind me: when do you meet?

Bump.

We could still use a 6th player if anyone is looking for a game.  We play every other Friday evening in Lakeview.

I'm free next Friday if you don't mind me dropping in.  What time is your session?

I'm going to NTRPG Con next weekend, but the weekend after that we'll play.   PM sent.
