I'm in town for the summer. I haven't played D&D in a while, so I pickd up a 4th ed., and was hoping to find a group to play with while I was in town. Preferably, a group somewhere in the Vicinity of Uptown, Harahan, or Metairie.

I'm part of a weekly group that meets in Metarie.  We're currently playing 'Infinite Horizons' ( d20 future ), but we're thinking about moving to a Pathfinder game in the next few weeks.

That said, I am not using everything from the book.  The world isn't as advanced as what's in the book.  Its probably not worth getting the main book right now unless you collect such things.  I am using the other books for some content but not so much its worth anyone else getting them.  If you join the group and play when this game picks back up later (see below) you would probably want to get a copy.

Technically we meet in Kenner if you look at a map.  Someone will send you a map link in a personal message.  I'd rather not post the location in a public area.

We are going threw some transition right now. One player just moved away and another will move away in the next month.  At that point we will switch GM's for a time.   I fully intend to continue this game later but will be glad for the break.  That basically means it doesn't make sense for you to make a character for this game but we have a bunch of NPCs that you could pick from for the next few weeks.  And regardless, you are welcome to come by and meet the group and see if there is some compatibility.  We typically start around 6pm and go past midnight on Saturdays, every week.

He could play on one of our drones or my old character if he desires as well.

Yea, I can hold off on buying the books until I get a feel for the game. I wouldn't mind playing a pre-rolled character.
