How does the ranking or position system work? It's partly based on number of posts, but what else affects it and what ranks are there? I'm curious.

I'm not totally sure, though I've wondered myself.  I've had this question kind of answered before, and basically what I gathered is that you get more stars the more you post, your labels are assigned to you, and on top of that I think some star rankings are also just assigned by the admin.

On another note, I'm glad to see some posts on the forum in the past week or so.  Things have really died down since the +1 Gaming forums went up - I'm guilty of this to a certain extent.  Anyway, long live NOLARPG.COM!

Basically what you said is correct.

There are titles based on total number of posts.  There are also non-public areas on the forums for various games and assigning people the priviledges to see those hidden areas also can change their title.

I try to check the forum daily and there is one active gaming group on here that posts everyday.  They are just mostly active in their non-public areas.

What do the stars above the profile picture mean?

Nothing.  With each group I can attach a a few stars of whatever color I want.  When I made groups before I tried to make them different but there are so many groups now its  a pain to try.

The idea is you get a little graphic if you are in a special gorup.  Now when I make groups I don't add a pic.

The default groups based on post count that you can be in might change the graphic but really, its just a way to distinguish who is in a group.
