Title: 2nd Edition AD&D Game THIS SUNDAY! (2/6)
Post by Clay on Feb 2nd, 2011 at 12:25am
Hey folks,

I am starting my 2nd Edition game this Sunday and am inviting any and all to join in the slaughter..... err fun!
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register has signed up to play and am looking for more eager adventurers!

Location is still TBD for our first session or two but eventually we will be playing at +1 once they open. Our first session may be over at Galactic but I'll let everyone know by tomorrow. I would like to play for at least three to five hours the first night and would like to begin in the afternoon/evening sometime.

If anyone is interested please RSVP here and I'll get with you about character generation, etc.

Hope to see you in game!
-Clay

On Sundays, Galactic runs yugioh tornaments.  They typically take up the entire gaming area.  Besides, how much would you be able to get done with 15 to 20 loud, hyperactive teenagers running around?

Ok, well at this point we can meet anywhere that will take us... Pizza Hut, Starbucks, etc. etc. I'll look around and see what's available. I just moved back to town so folks here would probably have a better idea of where we can meet.

All I know is that I want to play some D..  ;)

You are gonna play on Super Bowl Sunday? First of all, what's wrong with you? (lol) Second, what did you say is wrong again? (lol) Better you have something like that at the house. Businesses that serve food might be pretty busy then as well.

You have a point there. I guess I forgot about the Superbowl since the Saints weren't playing.

Yeah, I forgot about the Super Bowl, too.  News Flash: WE ARE NERDS

Though, frankly, I would like to watch the Super Bowl.  I'm so conflicted!

I guess we will push the game back a couple weeks. Didn't you have something going on next Sunday beyonder?

glad to hear you aren't kicking it off on Super Sunday.  Sundays aren't my first pick for a gaming day, but please let me know when things get a little closer to "kick-off" I might change my mind and give up my only full day off for a little "D".

Whoa! I was just teasing about the Super Bowl thing. Don't cancel just because of that. I would love to play too, but I'm from Green Bay, so there is no way I'm gonna miss the game. GO PACKERS!

Well I canceled because I only had one confirmed player and because of the SB. I'm rooting for the Packers myself because I'm not a big fan of the AFC...  >:(

At any rate... the game WILL happen in the near future. Stay tuned!

Hey folks,

I know this is extremely last minute but we will be meeting today at Starbucks in Metairie from 2pm to 4pm.

Starbucks
4312 Veterans Blvd
(near the intersection Of Veterans and Houma, close to where +1 Gaming is)

This will probably not turn into a play session but rather a chance for everyone to meet and greet, roll characters, buy equipment, and get a background story going.)

I have two people coming for sure and wanted to get this out to everyone else. I will have all of the necessary books, dice, character sheets, etc. so you don't have to bring anything but yourself  [smiley=grin.gif]

Again, sorry for this being last minute.

Clay

Fellow Gamers,

We will meet again this coming Sunday (2/20) at the same location from 1pm to 4pm.

Starbucks
4312 Veterans Blvd
(near the intersection Of Veterans and Houma, close to where +1 Gaming is)

Please RSVP here or send me a PM if you like.

This is just a temp home for the group until +1 Gaming opens it's doors. (Which looks to be soon according to Jeremy, yay!)

UPDATE: The location for this Sunday's meetup is being changed because the Little Rascal's parade starts at noon and will pass directly in front of the Starbucks. I will get us a new spot and update this thread. Stay tuned dungeon delvers!

Ok, we're still at Starbucks, just at a different location. The address is 2705 Veterans Blvd in Kenner. Time is still 1pm to 4pm.

That is awesome!  How many people showed up and who played what?  Still wish I could have made it out there.

Myself plus three players made it out. My long time friend had to leave early though but he will be a regular player once he passes his CPA exam. I had the other players roll two PC's each. There was a Dwarven Fighter, Dwarven Cleric, Half-Elven Mage, and a Human Ranger.

I hope you can make it out as well. I have not scheduled the next session yet as I am waiting to hear from Jeremy as to when +1 Gaming will be opening. There probably won't be a session this coming weekend but definitely the weekend after.

Casper is going to set up a board on here for the campaign and I will post new info there once it's up.

Thanks!
Clay

What style of game are you playing?  Are you looking for more players?  How regular of players do you need?

I've kinda had an itch to get into an oldschool game.  Not sure what level of commitment I could make to the game, I already have one group, but I thought it might be fun to play for a little while.

It's a traditional 2nd Edition romp...  :) I hope to have roleplaying/hack and slash at a 50/50 ratio, although our first session was 100% roleplaying for the background story.

We have two regular players now, well three if you count my friend John. He will be joining us full time once he passes his CPA exam. I also have three other people who are very interested in joining and they are waiting to see what the session schedule looks like. I'm holding off committing to a time/date as I am waiting for +1 Gaming to open it's doors so we have a "home" so to speak. To answer your question(s). I'd like to have a regular player but could "work you in" from time to time. I am looking for 6 players max as more would stress test the limits of my DM'ability...  ;D

Congrats on getting the session going so fast! It took me forever to get one started up here, but I'm happy we finally got a group up and running as well. I look forward to meeting with you when the new shop opens. Maybe we can throw around some GM ideas, experiences and advise :)
