Title: Dragonborn in Wyverndale
Post by hewhorocks on Aug 25th, 2009 at 1:47am
The Dragonborn are not a race to themselves rather they are the offspring of human/dragon trysts. As they are hatched from eggs it should be readily apparent as to the sex of their maternal parentage. They are an oddity not entirely welcome in humanoid lands or among dragon kind. The sub-type of their draconian parent does much to inform how civilized lands would treat them. (Unlike cannon Dragonborn color is an indication of breath weapon in Wyverndale)

Chromatic Dragonborn are treated with distrust and fear among humankind and often are viewed as little more than half-breed chattel among dragons. They are sometimes the result of dragons wishing to breed unquestioningly loyal henchmen, exploring curiosity about human relationships, or even furthering some diabolic plot. Paranoid chromatics may even sire Dragonborn children expecting they will be offspring that will never grow strong enough to rebel against their dominion.  Chromatic Dragonborn are rarely the product of loving homes.

The descendants of metallic dragons are often welcomed into the world as cherished children by their loving mother, though they face no less difficulty in fitting in with members of human society.  The Eldaran and dwarves often treat metallic Dragonborn as welcomed emissaries from their revered allies. Depending on the local stature of their parent(s) Dragonborn may be welcome in their home regions where they often include their relationship with their draconic parent in introductions. The monastery in Belivich is known to have several disciples who have draconic heritage.
