I'd say it's high time we had another all-users-who-can-make-it meetup. Is December just to busy for all the Christians and pagans? Would January be better? I'm pretty available after Dec 12, when finals end, until mid-January, when school starts up again. Of course, I vote for somewhere near my place (uptown) but now that I've got the busses figured out, I'll migrate wherever needed. Unless, you know, my new job makes me work during the meetup.


P.S. This has nothing to do with my desperate desire to assemble a table for my place.

I could meet for either.  Would it be productive to meet in december?  Would the bulk of the gamers be out of town because school is out?

I would love to meet some gamers around here. Just getting into the scene for me it would be great. I might not feel so new... LOL Anyways hit me up if we are going to meet. I mean as long as none of you are serial killers and what not....  ;)

We have at least two new people on the forum so I guess a December meetup does make some sense.

Coffee house type place works for me.  Depending on how many ppl are up for it in Dec.  If we have a turn out like the first one the little tables at a coffee place may not be suitable.

Yep, real life.  Just a chance to get to know the local gamers (at least the ones that found these boards).  We meet at a public place, coffee house, restaurant (last couple of times), etc.

Coffee sounds nice, but I agree if we do end up having a bunch of people it will be crowded. So lets see how many say they are going to show and then decide? Lets say set a deadline to say if your coming or not and then decide if we need to go to a bigger place or if the coffee house would be appropriate. Either way I am very excited.

Well, I am a serial killer, but gamers aren't my prey.  So, ya'll are safe(-ish, anyway).

Another meetup sounds good to me, but I definitely couldn't make it until mid-January.  I made the first one, what was that, July?  August?  But missed the second one.

To jog your memories, I'm the guy that still gets down with OD&D & AD&D 1st edition.  :)

I'm up for another meetup.  Like Red Priest I made it to the first one, but haven't been to one since.  My shedule is kind of hit or miss these days.  Saturday evenings are out due to actual gaming.  My work shedule is a little wierd, but I'll try to make it to a meetup if I can.


P.S. None of my victims have actualy died as far as I know, so I think I pass the 'no serial killer' requirement.

It looks like we are running out of Dec, so Jan would probably be the best bet.  One of the middle two weekends probably.  I'm easy though.

I agree. Mid January would be best for us. We won't be back in town until Jan. 5th.

Ok...I'm another one that made meetup # 1 and missed the rest.

So, January is good.  Probably the 2nd week or so...let the holidays die down just a bit.  After doing some reading here, it seems we could have a lot to talk about...and a nice group of "new" members here as well.

I remember posting some ideas of where (and where not) to meet somewhere.  Has that been established?  Maybe do a VOTE on time and place. Or at least send a mass email out when a time and place has been set...sometimes that's the only way I find out about things.

Would Tuesday night (Jan. 6) be ok?

Tuesday nights aren't great for me, as I'm trying to make that my game night. We're just getting rolling, so I'd hate to skip a session. But if that works for a lot of folks, I guess we could.

Put me in for the 14th, anywhere between 6 & 10pm.  I'm moving the first weekend of January, so the proceeding week will likely be filled with honey-do's.

During the week doesn't really work for me.    Do people think this is a better time than sat/sun afternoon?


I was thinking the afternoon of the 17th at the parrot cafe on the westbank.  Its one of those pricey desert places where you can get a cinnamon roll or cookie as big as your face.  Its got a big outdoor area so you aren't really forced to buy anything.

We haven't done the west bank yet.

So what's the plan? When and where are we doing the meet up?

I haven't been paying enough attention (damn work distracting me) and time has slipped by.  I know I can't do a weekday night but there isn't any reason the rest of you can't if you can do it.

So how about meetup 3 has two options.  Someone can volunteer to pick a place and show up during the week.  Pick a place, post directions and a time around the 15 during the week.  Start a thread with the direction and other details in this area.  Call it meetup IIIa.    I will do the same for a meetup satuday afternoon for meetup IIIb.   If IIIa happens I will try to pop in for a minute but have little free tie during the week.  I suspect some of us will attend both but this lets us rope in the people who can only do weekend and the one who can only do during the week.

I will post a thread about IIIb in the next day or two.
